About Mach 16

Every driver is full wide-range, and no electronic crossovers or equalization elements are used. The only exception is a minimal cut for the super tweeter — a cut so subtle it cannot be called a crossover, as it does not divide the audio signal into separate frequency ranges.

By eliminating capacitors, inductors, resistors, and any component that could reduce the system’s impedance, the Mach 16 maintains an impedance that is remarkably close to the natural, free-air impedance of the drivers themselves. Unlike conventional speakers, whose crossovers can drastically reduce impedance — sometimes to a third or even a quarter of the nominal value — the Mach 16 preserves high linearity, allowing the amplifier to control the drivers with maximum efficiency. This design choice significantly enhances the damping factor, which is a critical parameter in ensuring precise driver control and fidelity.
